The application tab and menu bar
Application pages that use the Traditional UI blueprint contain an application tab and a menu bar:
The menu bar is responsive; if the screen size is too narrow to display all menu items, non-visible items are added to an overflow menu.
Administrative users
By default, the application tab and menu bar provide the following menu items and controls to those with an administrative role:
- Application switcher — A drop-down menu next to the
application name that allows the user to navigate to different applications and
to setup pages. Select the App Settings
button next to an application name to navigate to the application's setup page.
- Application menu bar —Contains each tab and menu defined in the
application. Administrators can click plus to create a new object and/or tab for
the application: Note: Application tabs and menus are in the The Platform Menu and Help (sidebar) for applications that use the Modern - Vertical Menus UI blueprint.
Non-administrative users
By default, the application tab and menu bar provide the following menu items and controls to those with a non-administrative role:
- Application switcher — A drop-down menu on the application tab that allows the user to
navigate to different applications. Only applications the user has permission to
access appear in the menu: Note: The Application Switcher is in a different location for applications that use the Modern - Vertical Menus UI blueprint.
- Application menu bar — Contains each tab and menu defined in the
application. Note: Application tabs and menus are in the The Platform Menu and Help (sidebar) for applications that use the Modern - Vertical Menus UI blueprint.
